人们在长期的写作实践过程中，对某些文体文章的写作逐步形成了一些特定规范——即结构的基本型。这种“型”开始是某个人的创造，但是由于它符合人们的思维规律，所以一直被沿，用下来，并在人们的反复运用中逐步完美、定型化。所以，这种“型”的产生不是偶然的，它是在人们共同思维规律的基础上形成的。
学术不端行为是指在科学研究和学术活动中的各种造假、抄袭、剽窃和其他违背科学共同体惯例的行为。依据美国社会学家罗伯特·K·默顿的越轨理论，学术不端行为本质上属于背离科学的越轨行为，是研究者对其被赋予的社会角色和社会地位的规范的背离；属于社会微观层面的社会团体或社会成员的失范行为，是社会团体或个体偏离或违反现行社会规范的行为。作为特定群体，研究生学术不端行为多发生在专业课程的学习、课题研究、奖励评定和毕业论文撰写过程中，主要表现为伪造或篡改实验数据、剽窃他人研究成果、伪造注释、杜撰参考文献、在他人的学术成果上署名、不当使用他人署名等。其学术不端行为有明确的目的性，旨在通过采用不符合学术规范要求和学科专业研究规范的手段达到自己获得学位的目的，是个体偏离或违反学术规范的行为。研究生学术不端行为并非一个孤立现象，亦非简单的研究生个人层面的道德缺失和学术能力、水平低下造成，而是我国当前大学学术管理中的部分环节不能适应日益发展的研究生培养教育要求的矛盾所造成。本文试图从我国大学研究生教育培养的过程出发，借用社会学关于“越轨行为”和“失范理论”的分析及其社会机理的理论解释，系统分析当前大学研究生群体出现的学术不端行为，并从大学学术管理的实践和理论研究视角探索研究生学术不端行为治理的有效途径。
